Will not contain underlining or highlighting unless called out below in item specifics. Dust jacket included if shown in images. First edition, as shown by matching date on title page and copyright page on verso. 206 pages You will receive the book shown in the accompanying images. ITEM SPECIFICS: Binding is tight, not cracked, strong gutters and hinges, text block square, closes tightly. Cloth wrapped boards are relative uniform in color, spine shows slight tanning. Spine head and tail are bumped, but not frayed, board corners minimally bumped with just a hint of wear at tips. Aside from gift inscription neatly penned FEP, no other writing. This is a "very good -" children's vintage hardcover , full color book. The spiral binding is intact, with the comb not crushed, some wear at the top and heel of the spine, but the pages are all tightly bound. It appears that not much saving actually occurred with this particular copy, as none of the coin or bill slots show signs of use. Inside the back cover there is a sleeve entitled "My bank book" where the owner could slide their savings book into for safe keeping. This two is "as new". Some edge wear, some tanning on edges, but overall, all of the illustrations are very bright and pleasing.
The matching original jacket has had better days, with two large losses on the front cover along with several smaller ones and the spine is quite worn. Now protected and remediated in a removable archival sleeve. Not perfect, but very few copies of this book are found with a jacket at all. A really interesting piece of childhood Americana! This is a "very good -" children's vintage hardcover , full color book. This is a "very good" or better vintage hardcover with a crisp, tight binding and board hinges. No loose, torn or folded pages, aside from an X-mas gift inscription dated 1970, no writing. The upper board corners are no bumped, crisp, the lower corners are bumped with just a hint of wear at the tips, not much. The spine head is ever so lightly bumped, bottom edge crisp. The grey cloth is uniform all around, no spotting, tanning or fading. The purple decorations on the front and the lettering on the spine is all crisp and complete, not rubbed.The original dust wrapper shows handling wear at the spine edge (see accompanying images). There 2.5" closed tear at the front bottom near the spine along with some smaller closed tears with creasing and some chipping along the bottom edge. Some tanning along the upper edge, more visible on the inside rather than on the outside. Front flap has been price clipped. Not a perfect jacket, but still pleasing enough and relatively nice considering it is a children's book of this vintage.
