First edition, as shown by matching date on title page and copyright page on verso. 206 pages You will receive the book shown in the accompanying images. ITEM SPECIFICS: Binding is tight, not cracked, strong gutters and hinges, text block square, closes tightly. Cloth wrapped boards are relative uniform in color, spine shows slight tanning. Spine head and tail are bumped, but not frayed, board corners minimally bumped with just a hint of wear at tips. Aside from gift inscription neatly penned FEP, no other writing. First edition, inscribed by the author with a drawing on the half-title page. Large octavo in black paper wrapped boards over a maroon cloth-wrapped spine, richly illustrated with black & white etchings. This is a "very good" or better large vintage hardcover with a tight spine, and crisp board hinges. Aside from the writers inscription on the title page depicting a charging knight on a horse with a lance (see images), no writing. No loose, torn or folded pages. The text block closes tightly and is square, Board corners are square, mildly worn at tips. Top edges of the boards are somewhat sunned. The original dustjacket is price clipped, other wise un-marked. Some slight edge wear, a little chipping at corners and at spine edges. Some light scuffing in places in the white background on the back side. Overall very pleasing, now protected in a removable archival sleeve for proper presentation. A wonderful find! A Fuzzy Wuzzy Book “Miss Sniff” 1945 Illustrated children’s book with faux “fur” on the animals
First edition. Binding and gutters are tight, no loose, torn, or folded pages. Christmas 1946 gift inscription on front free end-paper, other wise no marks or writing. Pages are bright. The "fuzz" on the cats and dogs is mostly complete, if somewhat compressed due to age. The fuzz has created "ghosts" on the opposite facing pages. The matching vintage dust wrapper is not clipped. Shows some edge wear with a little chipping at flap corners, and a small loss at the spine head. A few surface scuffs on the back cover, but overall, a very pleasing, much better than average dust wrapper for a children's book of this vintage. See accompanying images for full condition details.
