“Chinese Carpets” by E. Gans-Ruedin, published in 1981 by Kodansha.
First edition.
Large format hardcover in red-cloth wrapped boards with board slipcase, end papers feature a map of the Chinese nation, cloth head and tail band in the binding, profusely illustrated with full-color images of carpets along with some black and white photos of people and other subjects, all on glossy paper, text is on satin paper; 200 pages including index.
This is a “near fine” to “fine” vintage hardcover that appears to never been read. The binding is straight and crisp with equal board hinges. No loose, torn or folded pages. No writing nor names. The text block is square, closes tightly, uniform and bright all around, a tiny, faint hint of foxing at the top outer edge corner, first 3/4″ down from top – you really have to look for it. The board corners are square and crisp, not worn.
The original dust jacket is not clipped, showing the publisher’s original price of $39 inside the front flap upper. A “near fine” or better copy, no signs of use. Obviously has spent its time within the accompanying slipcase. The gray board slipcase is intact, nor splits, all seams are good. Still enclosed in the manufacturers heavy mil shrinkwrap.
A super nice vintage historical reference!
This is nicer than many books offered “new” in your local book store.

First edition. Octavo, black paper wrapped boards over white cloth spine, first edition, original publisher's price of $18.95 on the dust jacket flap, 292 pages. Some mild edge wear in places. Spine color is even with the rest of the cover, not sunned. Now encased in a removable archival sleeve for proper protection and presentation. Vintage cinema hardcover “The Making of King Kong” 1975 First edition in original jacket
First edition. Has a strong intact binding and hinges/gutters. No writing, no loose, torn or folded pages. The text block closes square and tightly. The board corners are fairly crisp, with the upper back and lower front showing just hint of light bumping. Lower corners have what looks to be some white paint at the tips. Text block edges are uniform and bright, clean with just a couple each small light specks on the bottom and outer edge. The spine head and tail are bumped. The titling on the spine is crisp, bright, complete. The front endpapers are tanned due to the original owner sticking several related news clippings inside for storage. (I will include these, but they will be in an archival clear sleeve.) The matching dust wrapper is not price clipped, showing original publishers price of $17.50 inside the front flap. Some chipping at the flap fold corners, and also looks to be a little of that white paint at the tips of the bottoms. No writing or other tears. Some tanning on inside of flaps. Minimal edge wear along the bottom edge of the boards. Now protected in a removable archival sleeve. Somewhat scarce title! Will make a really great gift for the Kong enthusiast in your life. Please see accompanying images for full condition details. Will ship promptly, carefully packaged.
