Signed First Edition: Swimming Lessons, Nancy Willard Poetry Book
$111.00
Signed first edition “Swimming Lessons” by the late Newbery Medal Award Winner Nancy Willard, published in 1996 Knopf. First edition. Octavo in patterned tan paper over brown cloth spine, cloth head and tail band, heavy creme pages, 206 pages. This is a “very good plus” vintage hardcover with a crisp binding and hinges. Aside from the author’s name on the title page (see accompanying images) there are no marks. No loose, torn or folded pages. Board corners and spine edges are crisp, unbumped. Text block closes tightly and is uniform in color, with perhaps just the faintest hint of some dusting in a few places. Quite nice! Likely an unread copy as it is from the poet’s private collection that was housed in her work space in her home near Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, New York. The matching vintage dust wrapped is in excellent condition, with no marks or tears, no significant faults. Back panel shows the beginnings of some tanning along outer flap fold. A really special volume! Will make for a wonderful addition to your collection of signed books or as a gift. Will ship promptly, carefully packaged and fully insured.

Vintage cinema hardcover “The Making of King Kong” 1975 First edition in original jacket
First edition. Has a strong intact binding and hinges/gutters. No writing, no loose, torn or folded pages. The text block closes square and tightly. The board corners are fairly crisp, with the upper back and lower front showing just hint of light bumping. Lower corners have what looks to be some white paint at the tips. Text block edges are uniform and bright, clean with just a couple each small light specks on the bottom and outer edge. The spine head and tail are bumped. The titling on the spine is crisp, bright, complete. The front endpapers are tanned due to the original owner sticking several related news clippings inside for storage. (I will include these, but they will be in an archival clear sleeve.) The matching dust wrapper is not price clipped, showing original publishers price of $17.50 inside the front flap. Some chipping at the flap fold corners, and also looks to be a little of that white paint at the tips of the bottoms. No writing or other tears. Some tanning on inside of flaps. Minimal edge wear along the bottom edge of the boards. Now protected in a removable archival sleeve. Somewhat scarce title! Will make a really great gift for the Kong enthusiast in your life. Please see accompanying images for full condition details. Will ship promptly, carefully packaged.
