Raymond Chandler “Farewell, My Lovely” Chandler’s 2nd Philip Marlowe novel 1st time in paperback
$26.00 Original price was: $26.00.$21.06Current price is: $21.06.
“Farewell, My Lovely” by Raymond Chandler, published 1944 by Pocket. Second appearance of the protagonist Philip Marlowe, after “The Big Sleep”, in novel form.
First edition, 6th printing (early).
This is a “good plus” or better paperback with a solid, albeit cocked spine. No loose, torn or folded pages. No writing. Back cover rather rubbed and faded. Covers show a fair amount of creasing. Internally, pages are of quality paper – rather unusual for the period – and are nice and bright.
See accompanying images for full condition details.
Considered to be one of the “big four” novels of Mr. Chandler’s career.

Agatha Christie “The Bedside, Bathtub, & Armchair Companion” Signed first edition 1979
"The Bedside, Bathtub, and Armchair Companion to Agatha Christie", by Dick Riley and Pam McAllister, published in 1979 by Frederick Ungar Publishing.
First edition, signed by both editors. This is a large, quarto, size paperback in pictorial covers, profusely illustrated in black and white throughout, 4 glossy pages in full color, signed by both editors on the title page, 330 pages including an index. This is a "very good" vintage paperback. The text block closes squarely and tightly, the lower page corners of pages 171-177 have been mis-trimmed at printing, and are folded up, otherwise, no loose, torn or folded pages from normal use. Binding is tight, not cracked or rolled. Text block edges lightly tanned, but internally the pages are bright. Over all edge wear with come chipping on covers, front cover slightly sunned at spine edge. Front cover relatively free from creasing, back cover has some light crease toward outer edge (see accompanying images). Overall, a very pleasant, special volume. Sure to make a special gift for the Miss Marple / Christie / Poirot fan in your life! Perhaps you! See accompanying images for full condition details. Will ship promptly, carefully packaged.

Dell Mapback “Alphabet Hicks” c1947 Rex Stout George A. Frederiksen cover art
$56.50 – $59.00Price range: $56.50 through $59.00
This is a "very good+" to "near fine" vintage paperback from the desirable "mapback" series that Dell Books popularized in the Forties, published circa 1947.
Rex Stout is the author and creator of the popular Nero Wolfe series of mysteries. The binding is solid, not cracked, not rolled, complete and solid. Text block closes tightly and is flat and square. The glossy cover coating is complete, front and back, the slightest bit of lifting at front cover lower corner. Covers are crease free. Blue tint on textblock top edge is sunned, other edges fairly uniform. One small numerical annotation on the front free end paper, otherwise no writing or marks. No loose, torn or folded pages. Really an much-better-than-typical copy! You don't find these books in this condition very often. Please see the images for complete condition details. Will ship promptly, carefully packaged. Combined shipping: Some platforms (Facebook being one), may not handle combining multiple orders into one shipment easily. Dashiell Hammett “The Maltese Falcon” February 1945 vintage Pocket paperback in dust jacket
CONDITION:
Book: Good plus with a solid binding, no torn, folded or loose pages, no writing. Has some fairly heavy creasing about mid-way down the spine, book closes flat, tinted block edges show some sunning. Inside front and back covers, there is the remnants of where the dust jacket had originally be glued to the book - I do not know if the publisher did that or if an overzealous owner did. Artwork on the covers is bright. Jacket: Acceptable to good condition, large loss along the middle of the spine, chipping at spine head, no writing, creased with some chipping along front bottom edge. Backside of flaps show the reverse of the glue action mentioned in book description. Now carefully protected in an archival sleeve. See accompanying images for full condition details. Not a perfect copy, but still very specials considering this was the books first appearance in paperback form and the original dust wrapper is still present. ABOUT: Fourth printing of this edition. Published by Pocket Books in February of 1945. Will ship promptly, carefully packaged.

Sherlock Holmes and the Golden Bird 1979 First edition vintage paperback
"Sherlock Holmes and the Golden Bird" by Frank Thomas, published by Pinnacle Books in 1979.
This is a "near fine" to "fine" vintage paperback with the only sign of wear being a faint crease on the front cover running parallel to the spine. Amazing - I have seen books on Barnes and Nobles' shelves which are not as nice as this. See accompanying images for full condition details. Will ship carefully packaged.
