Edgar Rice Burroughs “The Return of Tarzan” antique fantasy hardcover adventure book
$19.00 – $25.42Price range: $19.00 through $25.42
"The Return of Tarzan" by Edgar Rice Burroughs, published circa 1920 by AL Burt Company, copyright 1915.
This is a "good plus" or better cloth-wrapped vintage hardcover with chalk lettering on the front cover and spine. The binding is intact with solid hinges, albeit the front upper has just the starting of a little bit of a split. Inside the front paste down is a neatly scribed original owners name dated 1920, Cleveland OH, otherwise no apparent writing or marks. Pages 277 and 279 have their corners folded down inadvertently, and page 353 has the outer edge folded, again, apparently by mistake, otherwise no folded, loose, or torn pages. Text block closes tightly, relatively square, signs of thumbing on outer edge, tanning at the top of the text block. The board corners are bumped and worn through to the underlying board at the tips. The spine head and tail are bumped and worn. The cloth on the front and back board and spine is relatively uniform all throughout. The chalked lettering on the front board is mostly gone from the book title, while the author's name is mostly intact and the lettering on the spine the chalk is completely rubbed away. Not a perfect book, but still pleasing and an interesting time capsule from a classic series! Dee accompanying images for full condition details. Will ship promptly, carefully packaged.
