This is a “very good” or better vintage hardcover in decorated maroon cloth wrapped boards, published circa 1983 by Houghton Mifflin.First edition, 2nd printing, signed by acclaimed children’s writer Nancy Willard, coming from her personal library in Poughkeepsie. Mrs Willard was awarded the Newbery Award for her work “A Visit to William Blake’s Inn”.
Tight binding and gutters, no loose, torn, or folded pages, aside from Mrs. Willard’s signature, no writing. Board corners are crisp. A little bit of surface wear on the back board.Original jacket is complete, with original price on front flap. Some light edge wear, small loss at the bottom of the spine edge. Front lower edge has been creased. Not perfect, but still very pleasing. Will arrive in a removable archival sleeve.Will make for a unique gift indeed.Will ship promptly, carefully packaged.

This is a "good plus" or better antique British printed hardcover, with 29 original woodcuts by Simeon, deckled outer edge, tinted upper edge on block, spine wrapped in tan cloth, boards in brown paper, front board decorated with illustrated cloth plate.
Edition/printing not noted, but if not first, early, because the prefatory letter in the front is dated April 1920 and the title page shows a print year of 1921. This antique book shows some wear, but is solid. No loose, torn, or folded pages. There is a book plate on the front free end paper, other wise no markings. The red tinting on the upper text block edge has bled down in the margins of some pages. Titling on the spine is sunned or faded. Board corners are bumped and worn through to the board. All four original Harrison Cady glossy full-page illustrations are present. Binding and hinges are crisp and intact, not split. Corners lightly bumped. Original matching dust wrapper has a little edge wear, spine somewhat sunned. A pencil numerical annotation inside front flap, otherwise unmarked.
