This is a “very good-” vintage cloth wrapped hardcover storybook published by JH Sears & Co. in 1928, 165 pages with 20 color full page illustrations and decorated end papers.
First edition.
No loose, torn or folded pages. Binding is lightly shook but intact, no split or cracked. No writing. Cloth on covers has worn through at corners, with corners bumped. A few spots on the boards but otherwise relatively evenly colored all around, not sunned on spine. Text block is square, closing tightly.

This is a "very good -" children's vintage hardcover , full color book. The spiral binding is intact, with the comb not crushed, some wear at the top and heel of the spine, but the pages are all tightly bound. It appears that not much saving actually occurred with this particular copy, as none of the coin or bill slots show signs of use. Inside the back cover there is a sleeve entitled "My bank book" where the owner could slide their savings book into for safe keeping. This two is "as new". Some edge wear, some tanning on edges, but overall, all of the illustrations are very bright and pleasing.
The matching original jacket has had better days, with two large losses on the front cover along with several smaller ones and the spine is quite worn. Now protected and remediated in a removable archival sleeve. Not perfect, but very few copies of this book are found with a jacket at all. A really interesting piece of childhood Americana! This is a "very good" or better vintage hardcover with a crisp, tight binding and board hinges. No loose, torn or folded pages, aside from an X-mas gift inscription dated 1970, no writing. The upper board corners are no bumped, crisp, the lower corners are bumped with just a hint of wear at the tips, not much. The spine head is ever so lightly bumped, bottom edge crisp. The grey cloth is uniform all around, no spotting, tanning or fading. The purple decorations on the front and the lettering on the spine is all crisp and complete, not rubbed.The original dust wrapper shows handling wear at the spine edge (see accompanying images). There 2.5" closed tear at the front bottom near the spine along with some smaller closed tears with creasing and some chipping along the bottom edge.
