This is a “very good -” vintage hardcover in tan cloth wrapped boards, heavy mat paper, numerous black and white illustrations, published in 1966 by George Braziller of New York, 282 page including biographical notes on each included author.
First edition.
Binding is intact, albeit somewhat weak, hinges complete, not split. Text block closes tightly. No writing, no loose, torn or folded pages. Text block edges show some light use marks and dusting. Board corners lightly bumped.
Original matching vintage dust wrapped shows wear at fold areas, with some chipping at flap fold corners, some losses near spine, upper and lower. No marks, no significant tears, not price clipped. Now in a removable archival sleeve.
Interesting vintage academic work.

This is a "near fine" to "fine" vintage hardcover that appears to never been read. The binding is straight and crisp with equal board hinges. No loose, torn or folded pages. No writing nor names. The text block is square, closes tightly, uniform and bright all around, a tiny, faint hint of foxing at the top outer edge corner, first 3/4" down from top - you really have to look for it. The board corners are square and crisp, not worn. The original dust jacket is not clipped, showing the publisher's original price of $39 inside the front flap upper. A "near fine" or better copy, no signs of use. Obviously has spent its time within the accompanying slipcase. The gray board slipcase is intact, nor splits, all seams are good. First edition. Binding is tight, no loose, torn or folded pages. There is a Public Library book plate affixed inside the front paste down dated January 1946, library being the Public Library of Dark Harbor, Maine. Opposite, on the front free end paper is a blue color pencil gift inscription marked from London and dated june 1945, otherwise no marks. Board corners are lightly bumped, with some wear at tips on cloth. Spine head and tail are bumped, edges sunned. Blue cloth boards are relatively even. The matching dust wrapper is not clipped. Fairly well tanned on front and spine, back less so. Circular loss at mid-section of back board flap fold and at spine head and tail. No significant tears or writing. Looks like possible ghost of a removed label on front board upper outer corner. Fun vintage, war-era espionage stories! Scarce title. See accompanying images for full condition details.
