This is a “good plus” to “very good -” vintage cloth wrapped hardcover, published in Great Britain in 1930.
First edition.
The binding and gutters are intact and solid, not cracked or split. Text block as some foxing throughout on the edges and on the first several pages in front. It appears that the front free end paper was either removed or that the half title page was laid in. There is a neatly scripted set of initials on the half title along with a date “3.2.31” and an oval lending library stamp on the first page of text at the top, otherwise, no other writing nor library marks or pockets. Board corners are bumped with some wear to the cloth. Spine head and tail are bumped and show wear on the cloth. The spine and both boards are relatively uniform all around in color, some random spots in a few places.

First edition. Binding is tight, no loose, torn or folded pages. There is a Public Library book plate affixed inside the front paste down dated January 1946, library being the Public Library of Dark Harbor, Maine. Opposite, on the front free end paper is a blue color pencil gift inscription marked from London and dated june 1945, otherwise no marks. Board corners are lightly bumped, with some wear at tips on cloth. Spine head and tail are bumped, edges sunned. Blue cloth boards are relatively even. The matching dust wrapper is not clipped. Fairly well tanned on front and spine, back less so. Circular loss at mid-section of back board flap fold and at spine head and tail. No significant tears or writing. Looks like possible ghost of a removed label on front board upper outer corner. Fun vintage, war-era espionage stories! Scarce title. See accompanying images for full condition details.
