This is an “good”, complete vintage pulp magazine, 130 pages.
Includes a short story by a young Ray Bradbury: “The Women”.
Binding is tight, no loose, torn or folded pages, no writing or labels. Page edges are lightly tanned, but not terribly brittle; outer edges of covers show chipping, some losses and have several small closed tears around, no tape. No signs of moisture damp exposure or mildew.
Cover art is bright and uniform, not faded, same with advertisement on the back.
Has wear but text is complete, cover and inside art is pleasing, still charming.

The binding is solid, not cracked or shook. The reason I have graded this as just "good plus" is that there is what appears to be some predation at the top of the spine. Otherwise complete and solid. Text block closes tightly, a hint of roll. Much of the glossy coating appears to have come off the covers. Original owner names penned inside front free endpaper, otherwise no writing, no torn pages. Super fun! This is one of Ms. Hughes best known of 14 crime noir novels, and it was made into a film by Robert Montgomery in 1947. Please see the images for full condition details. This is a "good plus" or better antique hardcover in pictorial cloth wrapped boards with black-and-white illustrated semi-glossy frontispiece published by Grosset & Dunlap in 1916.
First edition, identified by the copyright page lists and also series books lists in the back of the book. Solid binding, no writing or marks aside from a name carefully penciled on the front free end paper. No torn, folded or loose pages. Board corners are bumped, more so on the bottoms, some minimal wear to the cloth on the corner tips, not worn through. Spine head and tail bumped, but cloth is not frayed. The cloth wrapping is a little rippled on the front board above the title, and their is a triangular section on the upper portion of the back board where it is floating from the underlying board. Lower corner of back board has what looks to be remnants of the dust jacket adhered to it. Not quite perfect, but still very pleasing copy of a rather scarce final title in this early Stratemeyer Syndicate series. See accompanying images for full condition details. Original dust wrapper is not price clipped, showing original publisher's price of $2.75 inside front flap. Has some creasing and some losses at edges all around. Now protected in a removable archival sleeve.
