Illustrated Antique Book “The Day’s Work” 1898 Rudyard Kipling 13 short stories First edition
$31.00 Original price was: $31.00.$24.18Current price is: $24.18.
This is a “very good -” green cloth wrapped antique hardcover published in 1898 by Doubleday, 431 pages with 8 glossy black and white plates and a vellum or rice paper protector on the frontispiece. Deckled edges on outer and lower edge, upper edge gilt.
First edition.
The binding is tight, with intact hinges and gutters, a name and number penned inside front paste down, otherwise no marking nor tags. One page has two crescent tears on the outer edge, where it appears that the pages may not have been fully separated originally, otherwise, no torn, loose or folded pages. The upper gilt shows some rubbing. The lower board corners are mildly bumped and all show wear on the cloth at the tips, as to the spine head and heel.
Still a rather pleasing vintage volume.

Vintage cinema hardcover “The Making of King Kong” 1975 First edition in original jacket
First edition. Has a strong intact binding and hinges/gutters. No writing, no loose, torn or folded pages. The text block closes square and tightly. The board corners are fairly crisp, with the upper back and lower front showing just hint of light bumping. Lower corners have what looks to be some white paint at the tips. Text block edges are uniform and bright, clean with just a couple each small light specks on the bottom and outer edge. The spine head and tail are bumped. The titling on the spine is crisp, bright, complete. The front endpapers are tanned due to the original owner sticking several related news clippings inside for storage. (I will include these, but they will be in an archival clear sleeve.) The matching dust wrapper is not price clipped, showing original publishers price of $17.50 inside the front flap. Some chipping at the flap fold corners, and also looks to be a little of that white paint at the tips of the bottoms. No writing or other tears. Some tanning on inside of flaps. Minimal edge wear along the bottom edge of the boards. Now protected in a removable archival sleeve. Somewhat scarce title! Will make a really great gift for the Kong enthusiast in your life. Please see accompanying images for full condition details. Will ship promptly, carefully packaged.
