This is a “very good plus” vintage children’s cloth wrapped illustrated story book published in 1978 by Little, Brown and Co., 31 pages.

Book is solid, crisp hinges, no writing, no loose, torn or folded pages. Board corners and spine head and tail are crisp, not bumped, a bit of wear on the cloth at extremities. Pictorial decoration on the front board is complete, not rubbed, very pretty.
The matching original dust wrapper is complete, not clipped, showing original publisher’s price of $5.95 inside front flap. There is a closed tear on the front cover along the spine that extends about midway the vertical of the book. Some edge wear and a little tanning on edges. Now in a removable archival sleeve.
An enchanting story and book!

Tony Sarg’s Savings Book “A Trip to Golden City” [1946] First edition Large children’s picture book with spots to insert coins & dollar bill
The matching original jacket has had better days, with two large losses on the front cover along with several smaller ones and the spine is quite worn. Now protected and remediated in a removable archival sleeve. Not perfect, but very few copies of this book are found with a jacket at all. A really interesting piece of childhood Americana! Illustrated Children’s Western “Wyatt Earp” [c.1956] Like new!
Octavo, glossy coated pictorial wrap around boards, green tinted text block edges around, two color chapter headings along with two color full page illustrations, seemingly one per chapter by Robert Doremus, 282 pages. This is an exceptional copy for one of these Whitman Books published at this time. I would grade it at "very good +" or better, which typically would not be that unusual, but for these books it is very much so. They were made very cheaply and were rather delicate. They did not fair well if exposed to the sun as the glossy coating would get brittle, discolor and lift. Typically also, the spines would crack and split. This book is wholly intact, the coating is complete, the spine nor hinges are not cracked, the text block closes tight and square, the tinted edges are relatively uniform in color, showing no signs of rubbing from use. There are four small surface scuffs to the edges on the bottom (see accompanying images). A hint of wear at the board corner tips and some slight chipping at the spine head and heel edges at the corners. A really, really nice example of a classic children's western published during the pinnacle of the Western in America! A wonderful time capsule. Will ship to you carefully packaged.
