Signed First Edition “Swimming Lessons” First edition [1996] Poetry Book hardcover with dust jacket Poughkeepsie college author
$110.99
Signed first edition "Swimming Lessons" by the late Newbery Medal Award Winner Nancy Willard, published in 1996 Knopf. First edition. Octavo in patterned tan paper over brown cloth spine, cloth head and tail band, heavy creme pages, 206 pages. This is a "very good plus" vintage hardcover with a crisp binding and hinges. Aside from the author's name on the title page (see accompanying images) there are no marks. No loose, torn or folded pages. Board corners and spine edges are crisp, unbumped. Text block closes tightly and is uniform in color, with perhaps just the faintest hint of some dusting in a few places. Quite nice! Likely an unread copy as it is from the poet's private collection that was housed in her work space in her home near Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, New York. The matching vintage dust wrapped is in excellent condition, with no marks or tears, no significant faults. Back panel shows the beginnings of some tanning along outer flap fold. A really special volume! Will make for a wonderful addition to your collection of signed books or as a gift. Will ship promptly, carefully packaged and fully insured.
