Sax Rohmer “The Day the World Ended” First edition hardcover 1930 Science fiction mystery mash-up with Gaston Max
This is a "good plus" to "very good -" vintage cloth wrapped hardcover, published in Great Britain in 1930.
First edition. The binding and gutters are intact and solid, not cracked or split. Text block as some foxing throughout on the edges and on the first several pages in front. It appears that the front free end paper was either removed or that the half title page was laid in. There is a neatly scripted set of initials on the half title along with a date "3.2.31" and an oval lending library stamp on the first page of text at the top, otherwise, no other writing nor library marks or pockets. Board corners are bumped with some wear to the cloth. Spine head and tail are bumped and show wear on the cloth. The spine and both boards are relatively uniform all around in color, some random spots in a few places. See accompanying images for full condition details. Scarce edition. Will ship promptly, carefully packaged.

This is a "good plus" or better vintage paperback. No writing, no loose, no torn or folded pages. The half-title page shows some light soiling. Text block closes tightly. A little light creasing on covers. Most of the glossy coating on the back cover is gone, and those areas show tanning. The remaining coating on spine and front cover is lifting on edges. Text block edges show some foxing. Great cover art! See accompanying images for full condition details. Will ship promptly, well packaged.
