This is a “very good-” vintage black paper wrapped hardcover, published in 1988 by Avenel, 715 pages, five original unabridged Fleming stories.
First edition.
The spine is tight, solid, hinges crisp, not cracked. No loose, torn or folded pages. Board corners are not bumped, tips free of wear. Gold lettering on the spine is super crispy and bright, smooth semi-gloss paper on boards is uniform and showing little sign of wear. Text block upper shows some tanning, lower corner of pages in block shows some predation at corner tips to most pages. No writing.
Original matching jacket is complete, not clipped. Spine is lightly sunned, front and back boards are uniform and bright. No writing, looks to be a ghost of a label on the upper corner of the rear. Some very slight edge wear, but overall, a very pleasing jacket. Now protected in a removable archival sleeve.
Rather scarce edition, with Fleming’s original text, which are now being revised in modern printings.
