This is a "very good" antique leather bound book with gilt on all sides of the text block, combed paper endpapers, a ribbon placemark sewn in, published in 1882 by Porter & Coates, 537 pages including an index. May be a first edition, but no way to know with certainty as this publisher did not use any particular method to note editions.
