Scientific American 1891 Antique color plate “A Cottage for Eight Hundred Dollars” Victorian floorplan
$82.00
Authentic antique lithograph, not a reproduction.
1 1/4″ closed tear at bottom right corner bottom edge and a 1/2″ closed tears on left edge,, right edge is extremely uneven, would likely be best to trim, but that is up to your discretion and taste; no writing, folds or significant creases. Some light chipping in a few places along edges, lightly tanned.
This plate has been salvaged from a 130 year old bound volume of several issues of the magazine Scientific American, Architects and Builders edition. At that time, instead of reprinting the pages of the magazines as a book, they actually took the magazines themselves and bound them. This book had been heavily damaged over the years, but the wonderful plates were mostly able to be saved.
Last image in listing shows how entire page with margins is laid out.
