Authentic antique lithograph, not a reproduction, in excellent vintage condition.
One 7/8″ closed tear at lower left edge (repaired on back with whatever kind of tape was available in the 1890s – not Scotch), reverse side of which is scuffed as seen in images/video, one small chip to edge on upper right, one 1/4″ closed tear on bottom edge near right corner; quite solid and clean, no writing, folds or significant creases.
This plate has been salvaged from a 130 year old bound volume of several issues of the magazine Scientific American, Architects and Builders edition. At that time, instead of reprinting the pages of the magazines as a book, they actually took the magazines themselves and bound them. This book had been heavily damaged over the years, but the wonderful plates were mostly able to be saved.
